Thanks to our friends at Logic Pro Expert for spotting this one. Yamaha Synthesizers Europe yesterday released a 900Mb pack of free DX7 samples on their Facebook page as well as Yamaha CS80, DX1, DX5 and CS40M samples too.
The download includes Plugin Boutique’s free Zampler sample player for Win/Mac, but unfortunately it’s 32-bit only. To use the free DX7 samples in Pro Tools, Dennis from Logic Pro Expert recommends trying Plogue’s Sforzando, a free 64bit sample player that can handle SFZ, WAV, SF2 and DLS files. Once you are done, you’re good to go back to the eighties.
Arminator2 free virtual instrument is designed as a homage to the Yamaha CS80, it can not be considered to be a faithful emulation of that fantastic instrument but rather it’s aim is to offer patches that hint at the original instruments power. Others say that Arminator is a stunning homage to the Yamaha CS-80.

- A very old and very huge (over 200 lbs.) classic synthesizer. Considered Japans first great synthesizer. It had some pretty amazing features for its time such as eight voice polyphony, patch memory storage and polyphonic aftertouch. It can generate great analog strings, brass, drones and pads with that instantly recognizable classic polysynth sound.
- 1.1 The birth of the Yamahatm CS-80 Yamahatm was created at the end of the 19th century, in Hamamatsu, Japan. The first electronic instrument, the Electone D-1 electronic organ, was designed and built in 1959. But the history of the CS-80 began when, in 1974, the GX-1 was released.

Yamaha Cs 80 Free Vst
This is a synthesizer for people who like to play for hours. The ME80 is a classic analog synthesizer emulating an analog Yamaha CS80 + additional features.
The tool was developed by Gunnar Ekornes, Max Fazio and Georges Poropat for 2 years. Max Fazio has done a lot of research on available data and expired patents. He discussed every detail of the synthesizer with Max, and he was the driving force in this project. In many parts of the synthesizer, we followed only its instructions. Georges Poropat is the owner of the CS80. He provided all the sound files we asked for, and how Max consulted about all parts of the synthesizer. Max and Georges did all this work for free because they wanted to see how it would be realized: to keep it digital and to make available a special gaming experience for more people. Version 2.0 is completely rebuilt and transcoded by Chris Kerry and uses CK_engine. Synthesizer Presets made by Max Fazio
